SERBIA-CROATIA-BOSNIA-MONTENEGRO-SERBIA 8 days/2013

We are so happy that we choosed to visit Croatia, in our opinion is one of the most beautiful countries of all we visited until now. For transportation we choosed the personal car, because it was less expensive. We got out from Romania through Drobeta Turnu Severin, entered Serbia direction Belgrad. A part of the road was national road, then we entered on the highway. We got out from Serbia through Batrovici, entered Croatia and continued on the highway to Zadar.
Before entering in every country we advise you to stop at the custom's currency exchange. In Serbia the national currency is the dinar and in Croatia is kuna. The highway fees (Croatia and Serbia) were like 30 Euro.
The trip to Zadar, where we had accomodation for 2 nights, took us 15 hours. We choosed this city because it has beaches and it is one hour away from Plitvice National Park.

                                      Plitvice National Park

To visit the Park you should come early in the morning, because it is very big and divided in 3 parts. The entry price is 10 euro/students and 15 euro/adults. In the season the price doubles and you should ckeck the Park's website before making your budget. We choosed Lower Lakes because we arrived late. When we entered the Park we were amaized and felt like in the movie 'Avatar'. Different and beautiful species of plants, blue lakes with lots of fishes and tens of meters high waterfalls. You can walk over the lakes on small wodden bridges that are integrated very nice in the landscape. After crossing the trail we were guided to a cave in which you go up on the mountain where a little train waits to take you to the Exit. In Croatia, in the mountains in special, it rains for 1 or 2 hours/day, so I advice you to take warm clothing and umbrellas. In the evening it is cold.

                                                    Split

We drived along the Dalmatian coast, whose beauty leaves you speachless and we stopped in Split, where we visited Diocletian's Palace, the Cathedral with it's famous tower with the bell from where you can see the city and we walked on the narrow streets, crammed with shopes and terraces. We dedicated 3 hours for visitting.

                                Brela – Dalmatian coast's pearl

In this resort we stayed for 3 nights, it is located at the base of the mountains and it has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, that received the blue flag. Water is cristallyne, beach with little stones and pines that under it's shade is cooler. We walked on the seaside to the nearest resort Baska Voda where we found the harbour with boats that offered trips. We choosed the trip to Brac island, with one stop at the Sweet Springs, with the speed boat, price 10 euro/person. An unforgettable experience!
On the island we found pictoresque houses and a very relaxed atmosphere. We walked on the streets and we admired locals backyards full of olive trees.

                                    Dubrovnik

To reach Dubrovnik we had to pass threw Bosnia (10 km), we advise you to check your car's green card if this country is on the list, if not you have to buy another insurance from the custom (fines are big).
When we arrived in Dubrovnik we visited the old city that has an impressive arhitecture. You can climb on the city's wall for the price of 8 euro/person. We dedicated 3 hours for visitting.

                                                    Kotor

We went to Montenegro, first stop: Kotor! A city that we liked a lot, built during the Republic of Venice, surrounded by an impressive wall. We spent six hours there, we walked on the streets that reflect the venetian influence, we listened to a classical music concert (for free), we sow also the fanfare and we went up to the city's ruins, we didn't counted the steps, but I can tell you that it took us 2 hours to get there. The view over the bay is absolutly amazing. The price is 3 euro/person and it is not recommended for people that have fear of heights.

                                                   Budva

Last stop was Budva, where we stayed for 2 nights. The beaches are beautiful, very large with thin sand. Price for food is cheaper than in Croatia. Night life is present, clubs are competing, all are located parallel on the street, fun starts at 9 pm and ends at 1 am.
In return we made 17 hours to Romania, because the trail through Montrenegro is very difficult and dangerous (serpentines everywhere).

SUNNY BEACH – 9 days/2013

We grew in love with Bulgaria's beaches from the first time we've been in the North in Golden Sands and this time we returned for the 3d time, in September, in South, in Sunny Beach, that is 2 km away from the town Nessebar, one of Europe's oldest cityes, part of UNESCO'S heritage.
We liked the large and very clean beaches, the clear water and the excelent value of money.
We choosed bus transportation, it took 6 hours from Bucharest and it was very comfortable. The bus left us infront of the hotel, we checked in and then we went exploring the surroundings. To get to the beach we had to cross sand dunes, that gave us the impression for a while that we were in the desert. :)

The resort is ever changing, new hotels, new bars. If you do not have time to walk from a side to another you can rent bikes. In the centre you can visit the bazaar that is very big with diversified products and the amusment park, that should not be missed. :D

One of the days we took the bus to Nessebar (1 euro/pers/round way), located on a peninsula, we reached it by passing through an isthmus. We prefered walking. I have only words of praise for bulgarian people because they managed to keep unbroken the: stronghold, boxes, church, streets, cliff. The city was bigger, but in time it lost 1/3 of it's teritory, being covered by sea. We walked for hours on the narrow streets full of romantic flavor and we didn't get bored. We found a bar named Eco Bar, where we rested a while, hidden under a house, carved in stone, that hidden a wondeful terrace where silence reigned.
