One awesome day in Bucharest! :)

We wanted to take advantage of this beautiful and sunny day, so we've spent it in the center of our lovely Bucharest. We started from the North Train Station ( "Gara de Nord" subway station) and went for a turkish coffee (prepared in a special way, boiled on sand) served with free cookies :), in a special indian place named Ramayana. Every room is painted in a different color and you really feel that you are in the heart of India. Really warm and cozy, a perfect place if you want to start the day with a good state of mind. (1 coffee - 2 euro)

After this boost of energy, we went walking to the Leonidas Chocolaterie to buy sweet belgian chocolate. It was so hard to decide!!! :D  (1 chocolate - 4 euro)
Also, on the way there, the George Enescu Museum is worth a stop. Even if only for the beautiful architecture.

We continued from there by taking the subway from Victoriei Square Subway Station  ("Piata Victoriei") to University Subway Station ("Universitate") where one of a kind coffee shop "Delicatese Florescu" awaits you. This place is filled with history due to its owner, Gheorghe Florescu, the former disciple of Avedis Carabelaian, the supplier of the Romanian Royal House. Mr. Florescu and his daughter, wich will take over the buisness, welcomed us with their arms opened. They are warm and friendly and they helped us with choosing our coffee and also served us the best coffee we've ever tasted. You can taste and buy from there a big diversity of international coffee, starting from 1 euro/100g to 35 euro/100g (the most expensive coffe in the world, Kopi Luwak), wines and a large variety of specialties (natural honey, dry fruits, chocolate etc.). The coffee there is always fresh, and Mr. Florescu will guide you through the secrets of this art, the art of making coffee. Mr Florescu, despite his age, is as full of energy as his beloved coffee. Touche! :D His smile was carried by our lips in all the places we've visited afterwards, and followed us home. We cannot wait to finish the coffee we've bought to just visit him again. A truly remarcable human being.

After this pleasent coffee tasting we walked to Old City Center, which is only 5 minutes away, visiting many shops, but we can say that we were amazed by one in particular, named "Barza Viezure Manz'' ( Stork Badger Foal), where you can find the best authentic and traditional Romanian products. Pictures talk for themselvs. Even the famous romanian drink 'palinca' or 'tuica' is there :)). We bought home made bread at 8 euro/1 kg.

So after all the tasting and shopping it was time for fooling around on some special stairs. It is about a narrow street, 2 bus stations away from Old City Center, named Xenofon Street (after a romanian writer). The little street is painted as a waterfall and it is unique in Bucharest. Enjoy laughing while being carried away by the dangerous waves! :)))))))

PS: Thanks cuz' for this awesome time!!!! Love ya'!!!! :)
