GeoTravelTales: CEAHLAU NATIONAL PARK 2 days/2014

For mountain trails lovers, National Park Ceahlau, it's one of the most beautiful national park, where Mountain Ceahlau is considered to be the most impressive massive from the central part of the Orientali Carpathians. There are lots of mountain trails from where you can choose, that start from 4 hours to 20 hours of climbing and descending. You can find the maps at the rescue office, located at the base of the park, where you can pay the entrance ticket 1 euro/pers. We made our booking in Bistricioara, located at 7 km, because we came with the car, so we advice you to make your booking in Durau near the park if you do not come with the car.

The National Park Ceahlau's content includes the following categories of protected areas:

1. Scientific reserve “Big Ocoloas”

2. Natural botanical reserve “Policy with lilies”

3. The monuments of nature “Duruitoarea waterfall” and “Big pit”.

In the first day, we went to the park. As trail we've choosen Duruioarea waterfall, about 4 hours climbing and descending, medium difficulty level. At the begginning it did't seem dificult, but forwarding, the trail became steeper. We advise you to be well equiped, boots, trick jachet and drinking water are a must. After the first kilometer, the only sounds you can here were the sounds of the wild animals, that were keeping distance from the turists trail and leaves rusting.

When we arrived at the waterfall, we rested for an hour and we admired the beautiful nature. At return, we walked quiqly, because the sun was about to fade and you do not want the night to catch you in the forest. :)
